Colin Telfer Gifford is a British railway photographer. He was born in 1936.

In the early 60s he joined the publishing company Ian Allen as an art editor and began slipping the occasional railway photograph into the magazines he designed. He took lots of famous shots, including some great shots of Bulleid pacifics at speed. Away from the Ian Allan design studio, Gifford continued to build a photographic record of every region of British Railways using a Rolleiflex medium-format twin-lens reflex camera.

Once of his most famous publications was ‘Each a Glimpse…And Gone Forever’ these 2 books where published in 1970 ‘Each a Glimpse…’ and in 1994 ‘…And Gone Forever’ these books showed the Decline of steam, not only showing the trains, but the people who are involved with them and showing different angles.
